Yi Chehyŏn on Chŏng Chisang

鄭司諫知常詩云。
燕南梁載嘗寫此詩作。
余謂作漲二字皆未圓。當是添綠波耳。
鄭又有
사간 정지상은 이런 시를 지었다.
연남 사람 양재가 일찍이 이 시를 베끼기를, “”라고 하였다.내 생각에 작과 창 두 자는 모두 그 뜻이 원만하지 않다. 마땅히 이것은 “첨록파”라고 해야 할 것이다.
정지상은 또 이런 시를 지었다.
Second Censor (sagan) Chŏng Chisang wrote,
When the rain stops, the long riverbanks turn luxuriantly green.
Seeing you off at Namp’o moves me to sing sad tunes.
The waters of the Taedong River, when will you run dry?
Tears at parting year after year add to rising breakers.In transcribing this poem, Liang Zai 梁載 (14th century) from Yannan wrote,
In my opinion, neither “rising” nor “swell” is satisfactory, and only “add more blue breakers” 添綠波 will suffice.
Chŏng also wrote lines such as,
The land responds to the blue sky, not too far apart from each other.
People and white clouds face each other at ease.
Drifting clouds and running streams, a traveler arrives at a temple.
Red leaves and green mosses, the monk shuts the gate.
Green willows and closed gates, eight or nine houses.
A bright moon, rolled up curtains, two or three people.
