洪摠郞侃最喜鄭承宣襲明。 百花叢裏淡丰容。 忽被狂風減却紅。 獵髓未能醫玉頰。 五陵公子恨無窮。 豈以其含咀之久而有餘味乎。 近世豐州有名妓。西京存問使召置府籍。妓頗以晩遇恨。李學士顗作一詩令妓歌之。 憶昔正年三五時。 金釵兩鬢綠雲垂。 自憐憔悴容華減。 來作紅蓮幕裏兒。 比之鄭詩。未必多讓。

Korean Translation
총랑 홍간은 승선 정습명의 다음 시를 제일 좋아하였다. 온갖 꽃 떨기 속에 깨끗하고 고운 모습, 갑자기 광풍을 만나 붉은 빛 없어졌네. 수달의 골수로도 옥 같던 그 뺨 고치지 못해, 오릉 땅 공자들 한이 끝없네. 이 시가 오래도록 읊어졌다고 해서 어찌 더 남은 맛이 없겠는가. 요즈음 풍주에 이름난 기생이 있는데, 서경존문사가 불러다 부의 기적에다 넣어두고 늦게 만난 것을 자못 한탄하였다. 학사 이의가 시를 한 수 지어 기생에게 노래 부르게 하였다. 옛날 막 열다섯 살 때 생각하니, 금비녀 양쪽 귀밑머리 푸른 구름처럼 드리웠다오. 아리따운 모습 없어진 여윈 얼굴로, 존문사 막부 속의 사람 되었음이 서글프다오. 이 시는 정습명의 시에 비해 그다지 못할 것이 없다.

English Translation

Section Chief (ch’ongnang) Hong Kan 洪侃 (d. 1304) loved the following poem by Edict Transmitter (sŭngsŏn) Chŏng Sŭmmyŏng 鄭襲明 (d. 1151). Amidst hundreds of flowers, is your elegant and lush face! Suddenly, a wild wind blows, Diminishing that rosy hue. Even otters’ marrow cannot restore your fair cheeks. Oh, lads of the Five Hills! Your disappointment knows no bounds Isn’t it because even after savoring it for a while, the poem still had a lingering flavor (mi)? In recent times, there was a famous kisaeng in P’ungju. The Greeting Official (chonmunsa) of the Western Capital summoned her and listed her name in the official kisaeng registry. She regretted that she had not met him earlier. Scholar Yi Ŭi 李顗 (ca. 1080) wrote a poem and had her sing it. I remember the time when I was fifteen, with golden hairpins on both sides adorning my long and dark hair. What a pity! Only when my beauty faded and splendor diminished did I come to be a red lotus in the government tent! When compared to Chŏng Sŭmmyŏng’s poem, this poem is on par.
