수운 같은 발자취 이미 여러 해더니 / 水雲蹤迹已多年 의기가 서로 맞아 인연됨을 기뻐하네 / 針芥相投喜有緣 종일토록 객헌에 봄날은 적막한데 / 盡日客軒春寂寞 지는 꽃 눈처럼 비 갠 하늘에 날리네 / 落花如雪雨餘天 라 하니, 준결(俊潔)한 맛이 있다. |

| Our dynasty has seen very few monks who could write poetry, and Ch’amnyo 參寥 (16th century) alone was the best. A poem he presented to someone said, 水雲蹤迹已多年針芥相投喜有緣盡日客軒春寂寞落花如雪雨餘天 Following your trace through rivers and clouds,it’s been many years.Like a magnet and metal filings, I am glad we have a friendship of destiny.All day long, at the guest house, spring feels lonesome.Flowers fall like snow in the sky cleared of rain. Robust and concise (chun’gyŏl), the poem is savory (yumi). |
