金悅卿。高節卓爾。不可尙已。其詩文俱超邁。以其遊戲不用意得之。故強弩之末。每雜蔓語張打油。可厭也。其題細香院曰。朝日將暾曙色分。林霏開處鳥呼群。遠峯浮翠排窓看。隣寺鍾聲隔巘聞。靑鳥信傳窺藥竈。碧桃花下照苔紋。定應羽客朝元返。松下閑披小篆文。昭陽亭曰。鳥外天將盡。吟邊恨未休。山多從北轉。江自向西流。雁下汀洲遠。舟回古岸幽。何時抛世網。乘興此重遊。山行曰。兒捕蜻蜓翁補籬。小溪春水浴鸕鶿。靑山斷處歸程遠。橫擔烏藤一個枝。俱脫去塵臼。和平澹雅。彼纖靡雕琢者。當讓一頭也 |

Kim Sisŭp was unsullied and extraordinary and could not be matched. His poetry and prose were both outstanding (ch’omae). He regarded them as a play and wrote them without taking effort, therefore it was natural for those who wrote with failing energy and disorderly language and vulgarity like Zhang Dayou 張打油 (Tang dynasty; 618–907) to dislike him. His poem on Sehyang Academy reads, 朝日將暾曙色分林霏開處鳥呼群遠峯浮翠排窓看隣寺鍾聲隔巘聞靑鳥信傳窺藥竈碧桃花下照苔紋定應羽客朝元返松下閑披小篆文 The morning sun is risingand the light of the dawn breaks.In the forest, where the mist clears, the birds call their flock.The floating green of the distant peakI open the window and watch.To the sound of the bell from the nearby templeI listen through the mountain hill.A blue bird delivering a message peers into the kitchen of medicine.The jade peach blossoms on the cliff fall and adorn the mossy patterns.The immortal must have returned to the forebear of the dynastyand under a pine tree idly opened a book in the Small Seal Script. His poem on Soyang Pavilion said, 鳥外天將盡吟邊恨未休山多從北轉江自向西流雁下汀洲遠舟回古岸幽何時抛世網乘興此重遊 Beyond the birds, the sky will soon end.When writing poems, my regret knows no rest.Numerous mountains turn northward.Rivers flow westward on their own.Geese land on a far-off islet.Boats return to a secluded ancient waterfront.When will I cast aside this worldly netand in high spirits visit this place again. His poem on mountain journey said, 兒捕蜻蜓翁補籬小溪春水浴鸕鶿靑山斷處歸程遠橫擔烏藤一個枝 A child catches dragonflies. His father mends the fence.In the brook filled with vernal water, cormorants bathe.Where the green mountains end, the return journey is long.On my back I carry a cane made of a rattan branch. All these poems have broken out of worldly standards and are harmonious (hwap’yŏng), simple and elegant (tam’a). Those who write delicate (sŏmma), and ornate (chot’ak) poems must submit to him. |
