東詩無效古者。獨成和仲擬顏陶鮑三詩。深得其法。諸小絶句得唐樂府體。賴得此君。殊免寂寥

우리나라 시는 고체(古體)를 본뜬 것이 없는데 오직 성화중(成和仲 화중은 성간(成侃)의 자)이 안연령(顔延齡)ㆍ도잠(陶潛)ㆍ포조(鮑照) 세 사람의 시를 본뜬 세 편의 시는 깊이 그 법을 얻었으며 여러 절구 역시 당의 악부체(樂府體)를 얻었으니 이분에 힘입어 가까스로 적요함을 면하게 되었다.

In the poetry of our country, there was none that effectively emulated the ancient style poetry. Only Sŏng Kan (styled Hwajung) imitated Yan Yanzhi 顏延之 (384–456), Tao Qian, and Bao Zhao’s 鮑照 (414–466) poetry and obtained a profound understanding of their techniques (pŏp). His various quatrains also grasped the style (ch’e) of the Tang’s Music Bureau poetry. Fortunately, because of him, we avoided complete deficiency.
