人謂子敏詩鈍而不揚者。非也。其在咸興作詩曰。雨晴官柳綠毿毿。客路初逢三月三。共是出關歸未得。佳人莫唱望江南。淸楚流麗。去唐人奚遠哉。

Korean Translation
사람들이 모두들 자민의 시는 둔하여 드날리지 못했다고 하는 것은 틀린 말이다. 그가 함흥에 있을 때에 지은 시에 비 개자 관가의 버들 푸르르게 늘어지니 / 雨晴官柳綠毿毿 객지에서 처음 맞은 삼월 삼짇날이라네 / 客路初逢三月三 다 함께 고향 떠나 돌아가지 못한 신세 / 共是出關歸未得 가인은 망강남의 노래를 부르지 마소 / 佳人莫唱望江南 는 청초(淸楚)하고 유려(流麗)하니 중국 사람들과의 차이가 어찌 많다 할 수 있겠는가?

English Translation

People say Yi Annul’s poems are dull (tun) and not high-spirited (pul yang), but they are wrong. A poem he composed in Hamhŭng, Hamgyŏng province, reads, 雨晴官柳綠毿毿客路初逢三月三共是出關歸未得佳人莫唱望江南 Rain has cleared and the public willowsare downy green.For the first time on the itinerant road I spend the Double Three Festival. Together we have left the pass and have not yet returned.Fair lady! Please don’t sing “Gazing at Jiangnan”. Clear (ch’ŏngch’o), flowing and beautiful (yuryŏ), how could he be far from the Tang poets?
