近日李實之能詩文。雖似宂雜。而氣自昌大。可謂作家。然不逮汝章多矣。實之眼高。不許一世人。獨稱余及汝章，子敏爲可。其曰。許飫權枯李滯。亦至當之論也。
근일에는 이실지(李實之 실지는 이춘영(李春英)의 자)가 시문에 능하다. 그 시가 비록 번잡한 것 같으나 기(氣)는 나름대로 창대(昌大)하여 작가라 이를 만하다. 그러나 권여장(權汝章 여장은 권필(權韠)의 호)에게 미치지 못하는 점이 많다. 실지의 안목은 높아서 일세의 사람들을 인정하지 않고 다만 나와 여장ㆍ자민(子敏 이안눌(李安訥)의 자)만을 괜찮다고 여겼다. 그는, ‘허는 허세가 있고 권은 말랐으며 이는 융통성이 없다.’ 고 하였는데 역시 지당한 평론이다.
Lately, Yi Ch’unyŏng (styled Silchi) has been producing good poetry and prose. Although his works seem lengthy and jumbled (yongjap), they have flourishing vigor (ki). He can be called a writer though in many areas he could not catch up with Kwŏn P’il. Yi set his eyes high and did not approve of his contemporaries. He only regarded the works by myself, Kwŏn, and Yi Annul 李安訥 (1571–1637; styled Chamin) to be acceptable. His words, “Hŏ is sated (ŏ). Kwŏn is withered (ko). Yi is sluggish (ch’e),” moreover, are highly appropriate criticisms.
