Every poem by Ch’oe Kyŏngch’ang was excellent (ka), because he released them only when they were polished to his heart’s content. I have included in the Kukcho sisan (Poems Culled from Our Country) several dozen poems by the two masters (Ch’oe and Paek), whose sound and rhythm (ŭmjŏl) conform to correct sounds. But their other poems also could not escape echoing what others had said.
