盧蘇齋，黃芝川。近代大家。俱工近體。盧之五律。黃之七律。俱千年以來絶調。然大篇不及此。未知其故也。

Korean Translation
노소재(盧蘇齋 소재는 노수신(盧守愼)의 호)ㆍ황지천(黃芝川 지천은 황정욱(黃廷彧)의 호)은 근대의 대가로서 둘 다 근체시(近體詩)에 솜씨가 뛰어나다. 노의 오언율시(五言律詩)와 황의 칠언율시(七言律詩)는 모두 1천년 이래의 절조이다. 그러나 장편시는 이만 못하니 그 까닭을 알 수 없다.

English Translation
No Susin and Hwang Chŏnguk are master poets (taega) of recent time, and both are skilled (kong) in recent style poetry. No’s five-character regulated verses and Hwang’s seven-character regulated verses are both unrivalled poetic masterpieces (chŏlcho) in a thousand years. Yet their long poems are not as good, and I do not understand why.
