(16th century) sobriquet was Ssangch’ŏn (Twin Springs). He studied poetry from young age. But neglected by the Creator, at age sixty, he had not received a single official assignment. It is a pity. His striking verses (kyŏnggu) read, On dewy grasses, crickets sound damp.In windy forests, birds dream danger. On the cold trees, birds have no dreams.By the dark windows, insects make sound. The waning moon perches on a thick tree.Cold birds huddle up on a worn-out fence. An approaching rain slowly encroaches on my dream. The colors of autumn are going to dye my poem. His poems were clear and bitter (ch’ŏnggo) like these.
