| 鄭虛庵希良被士禍。而逃爲髠或自稱李千年。浮游山水。老不知所終。嘗題院壁曰。風雨驚前日。文明負此時。孤筇遊宇宙。嫌閙並休詩。又曰。鳥窺頹垣穴。僧汲夕陽泉。天地無家客。乾坤何處邊。其所爲推命之書。今行於世。有奇驗云 |

| After being removed in a literati purge (1492), Chŏng Hŭiryang fled and became a monk. Perhaps calling himself Yi Ch’ŏnnyŏn, he wandered in mountains and rivers and what happened to him in old age is unknown. Once on a monastery wall he wrote, 風雨驚前日文明負此時孤筇游宇宙嫌鬧並休詩 A rainstorm came as a shock a few days ago.Civilization has forsaken this era.With a single bamboo staff, I roam the world.Disliking noise, I stop writing poems. He also wrote, 鳥窺頹垣穴僧汲夕陽泉天地無家客乾坤何處邊 A bird watches through a hole in a collapsed wall.A monk draws water from a sunset spring.In the world, I’m a homeless traveler.Where in Heaven and Earth can I draw near?His so-called book of divination is popular today. It is purportedly efficacious. |
