State Councilor Sang Chin was big-hearted and never discussed people’s strengths and weaknesses. Minister (p’ansŏ) O Sang 吳祥 (1512–1573) composed a poem, 羲皇樂俗今如掃只在春風酒杯間 Fuxi’s delightful customs have now been swept away. They are only in the spring breeze amid cups of wine. When Sang saw it, he said, “Why speak so unkindly?” Then he changed it to, 羲皇樂俗今猶在看取春風酒杯間 Fuxi’s delightful customs are still here today.Just look at the spring breeze amid cups of wine!He changed a few words but in a blended (honyŏn) and not overly revealing (pullo) way. Their poems reveal the two men’s air (kisang).
