蘇陽谷。於義州聚勝亭。次暉字韻。得澄江如練謝玄暉。一句而未得其對。學官魚叔權以新月似鎌韓吏部。爲對。一時稱善云。然新月似磨鎌。初非雅語。且其句法。類童穉語。無足道者
양곡 소세양이 의주 취승정에서 휘(暉)자 운으로 차운하여 ""한 구를 얻었으나 대구를 얻지 못했다. 학관 어숙권이 이에 ""로 대를 삼았는데, 그 때 사람들이 좋다 하였다. 그러나 "새 달이 간 낫과 같네"라는 것은 본래 아름다운 말이 아니고, 또한 그 구법이 흡사 어린아이의 말과 같아서 말할 가치가 없다.
At Ŭiju’s Ch’wisŭng Pavilion, So Seyang composed one line to the rhyme “radiance” 暉 (hwi), 澄江如練謝玄暉 “Limpid river like white brocade” said Xie Xuanhui. Then he could not find another line to match it. Then Education Official (hakkwan) Ŏ Sukkwŏn matched it with 新月似鎌韓吏部 “New moon like a sickle” said Minister Han of Civil Service Affairs.And it was regarded as a good poem for a time. However, to begin, “New moon like a sickle” is not an elegant (a) line. Moreover, its composition method (kuppŏp) is similar to a child’s expression. It is not good enough to be mentioned.
