| When King Ch’ungsŏn of Koryŏ was staying in Yuan, he fell in love with a beautiful singer. When the time came for him to return east, he went and presented to her a lotus flower he picked on the road. In gratitude, the singer wrote a poem, 贈送蓮花片初來的的紅辭枝今幾日憔悴與人同 The lotus flower you gave me,it shone pink at first,In a few days since our parting,it and I have wilted alike.The words are smooth (wan) and savory (yumi).
