A poem by Yi Tal reads, 風泉響落秋山窗石門月出疏鐘後道人讀罷黃庭經夜掃天壇拜北斗 Murmurs of a spring in the wind fall by the window in an autumn mountain. The moon rises from the stone gate after a bell’s infrequent tolling.A Daoist hermit finishes reading the Yellow Court Classic. At night, sweeping Heavenly Altar, he calls on the Big Dipper. A poem by Ch’oe Kyŏngch’ang reads, 午夜瑤壇掃白雲焚香遙禮玉宸君月中拜影無人見琪樹千重鎖殿門 Midnight at Jade Altar, sweeping clean the white clouds, burning the incense, from faraway you pray to the Lord of Jade Palace. In the moonlight, the shadow of worshipper is nowhere seen.A thousand rows of jade trees screen the palace gate. Both poems are excellent (ka) but the use of another rhyme in Ch’oe’s last verse is regrettable.
