| 재상 최연(崔演)의 문장은 호건(豪健)하여 필한(筆翰)이 물 흐르는 것같다. 인종(仁宗)의 만시(挽詩)는 이러하다.
삼년상을 짧게 한 한 나라를 마음으로 낮추보고 / 三年短制心嫌漢 오월을 여막에 거처함은 예법이 등 나라보다 낫네 / 五月居廬禮過滕 전고(典故)를 쓴 것이 매우 적당하다. 임 사문 형수(林斯文亨秀)가 인종의 만장을 짓기를, 오늘의 눈물을 차마 가지고서 / 忍將今日淚 작년 옷을 거듭 적시랴 / 重濕去年衣 하였다. 중종(中宗)이 승하하고 1년이 되지 않아 인종(仁宗)이 승하하였으니, 말은 간략하나 뜻은 극진하였다. |

| Chief Minister (chaesang) Ch’oe Yŏn’s 崔演 (1503–1546) writings were rich and bountiful (pusŏm), and his brush flowed smoothly like water. His elegy poem on King Injong 仁宗 (1515–1545) reads, 三年短制心嫌漢五月居廬禮過滕 For curtailing the three-year mourning,your heart condemns Han.In observing the five-months mourning in a thatched hut,you surpassed Teng in ritual propriety. His use of references (yongsa) is apposite (chŏldang). Scholar Im Hyŏngsu commented, 忍將今日淚重濕去年衣 How can I bear shedding today’s tearsto drench once more last year’s robe.Less than a year after King Chungjong’s death, King Injong also passed away. The expression (sa) is laconic (yak), but the meaning (ŭi) is exhaustive (chin). |
