| 昔翟嗣宗尉淮南。頗爲監司所窘。題蜘蛛詩於驛館云。織絲來往疾如梭長愛騰空作網羅。害物身心雖甚小。漫天綱紀亦無多。林間宿鳥應嫌汝。簾下飛蟲最懼他。莫學螳蜋捕蟬勇。須知黃雀奈君何。林子中召誚責。戒無爲輕薄。吾東方亦有武士李長吉。守義興縣。民甚苦之。作詩嘲之云。子賀子賀復子賀。官帑民財一倂空。唯有江山移不得。命工圖畫上屛風。子賀長吉字也。彼致怨者果惟不善。而嘲之者亦豈可謂善者乎。詩雖可觀。實嗣宗之罪人也。 |

| 옛날 책사종(翟嗣宗)이 회남위(淮南尉)로 있었는데, 그때 감사(監司)에게 매우 곤욕을 당하였다. 역관(驛館)에서 거미를 제목으로 시 한 수를 지었다.
실을 짜며 왕래하니 북같이 빠른데 / 織絲來往疾如梭 늘 공중에 올라 그물 만들기 좋아하네 / 長愛騰空作網羅 남을 해칠 몸과 마음 매우 적지마는 / 害物身心雖甚少 하늘에 늘어진 그물도 또한 많지 않구나 / 漫天網紀亦無多 숲 사이 자는 새들 너를 미워하지마는 / 林間宿鳥應嫌汝 발 아래 나는 벌레 그가 가장 너를 두려워한다 / 簾下飛虫最懼汝 사마귀가 매미 잡는 것 배우지 말지어다 / 莫學螳螂捕蟬□ 모름지기 알아야지. 참새가 너를 잡을 줄을 / 須知黃雀奈君何 임자중(林子中)이 그를 불러 경박한 시를 짓지 말라고 꾸짖었다. 우리 동방(東方)에도 역시 무사(武士) 이장길(李長吉)이 있었는데, 그가 의흥 현감(義興縣監)으로 있을 때 백성들이 몹시 그를 미워하여 시를 지어 조롱하였다. 자하 자하 또 자하야 / 子賀子賀復子賀 관탕 민재 모두 비우고 / 官帑民財一倂空 오직 강산은 옮기지 못하여 / 惟有江山移不得 화공을 명하여 병풍 위에 그렸네 / 命工圖畫上屛風 자하(子賀)는 장길의 자(字)다. 근년에 어떤 사람이 장편을 지어 종루(鐘樓) 기둥에 걸어서 낱낱이 조정 사대부(士大夫)를 헐뜯었으니, 진실로 조정에 뜻을 얻지 못한 사람이 아니면 바로 천박하고 경솔한 사람일 것이다. 시는 비록 볼 만하였으나, 실로 책사종(翟嗣宗)의 죄인인 것이다. |
