| 吾友鄭和文翼公之庶男也。卜居于宣川。時柳斯文永吉公。出守是郡。鄭烹海鷗卵十二枚獻于守。守答之以書曰。君方卜築海上。先殺十二白鷗。他日忘機。誰與爲友。由是鄭得殺風景之名。僕鍾愛於龍灣人。爲構數椽。不數年伊人撤屋徙居。也足魚公 也足魚學官之號 出入龍灣凡十九度。而不見九龍淵。故與僕俱得是名。僕有詩云。殺鷗病叟緣無肉。撤屋佳人怨不來。若第殺風浮白飮。我今當飮第三盃。翌日也足公。乘船泝九龍淵。爲飛廉所排。僕又疊前韵云。九龍傡力排舟退。白鳥成群問罪來。蓋並嘲魚鄭也。 |

| 나의 친우 정화(鄭和)는 문익공(文翼公)의 서자로 선천(宣川)에 살았는데, 당시 사문 유영길(柳永吉) 공이 이 군에 원으로 갔다. 정화가 해구(海鷗) 알 12개를 원에게 올리니, 원이 편지로 답하기를,
“그대가 바야흐로 바닷가에 살면서 먼저 12백구를 죽였으니, 후일에 망기(忘機)하면 누구와 벗할 것인가?” 하였다. 이래서 정화가 살풍경(殺風景)이라는 별명을 얻었다. 내가 용만(龍灣) 여인에게 정을 쏟아 그를 위하여 집 한 채를 지어 주었다. 수년이 못 가 그 사람이 집을 뜯어 이사해 버렸다. 야족(也足) 어공(魚公) 야족(也足)은 어 학관(魚學官)의 호 이 용만을 19번이나 출입하였으나, 한번도 구룡연(九龍淵)을 보지 못하였다. 그 때문에 나와 그도 함께 ‘살풍경’이란 별명을 얻었다. 내가 시를 지었다. 백구 죽인 늙은이는 고기 없는 연고이고 / 殺鷗病叟緣無肉 집 뜯어 간 가인은 오지 않는다 원한이네 / 撤屋佳人怨不來 만약 살풍경 등급대로 술을 마신다면 / 若第殺風浮白飮 내가 당연하게 셋째 잔을 마셔야지 / 我今當飮第三杯 다음날, 야족공이 배를 타고 구룡연을 거슬러 올랐으나 바람이 세어 밀리고 말았다. 내가 또 먼저 시에 첩운(疊韻)하여 지었다. 아홉 용이 힘을 모아 배 하나를 물리치고 / 九龍倂力排舟退 백조가 떼를 지어 문죄하러 오누나 / 白鳥成群問罪來 이것은 어(魚)와 정(鄭)을 아울러 조롱한 것이다. |

| My friend Chŏng Hwa 鄭和 (16th century) was a sŏja of Chŏng Kwangp’il. When he lived in Sŏnch’ŏn county, P’yŏngan province, Yu Yŏnggil 柳永吉 (1538–1601) was appointed as a magistrate in the same county. Chŏng offered twelve boiled seagull eggs to Yu as a gift.In his reply, Yu wrote, 君方卜築海上先殺十二白鷗他日忘機誰與爲友 You, who live near the sea, have now killed twelve seagulls. Later, when you forget all motive, who will you befriend?As a result, Chŏng acquired the nickname “A Scenery Killer.” I fell in love with a woman from Yongman and built a house for her. But, within a few years, she took the house apart and moved away. Ŏ Sukkwŏn visited Yongman altogether nineteen times but never saw Kuryong Pool. Both he and I were given the nickname “A Scenery Killer.” I wrote the following poem, 殺鷗病叟緣無肉撤屋佳人怨不來若第殺風浮白飮我今當飮第三盃 The seagulls were killed, for the sickly old man had no meat,The fair lady took the house apart, blaming me for not returning. If we were to judge whoever kills the scenery best will drink the wine first,I shall surely drink the third cup of wine. The next day, Ŏ boarded a boat and sailed upstream on Kuryong Pool, but the wind pushed against him. I again wrote a poem to the previous rhyme, 九龍傡力排舟退白鳥成群問罪來 The nine dragons combined their strengths to push the boat off course.White seagulls in flocks draw near to interrogate me for my crime. thus, poking fun at both Ŏ and Chŏng. |
