Original Text

English Translation
When he was young, Yun Kyŏl wrote the following verse, Among officials of a hundred years, none has gifted hands. A thousand li away in rivers and lakes, there are wondrous talents. My late father recited this to Sŏ Kyŏngdŏk 徐敬德 (1489–1546; sobriquet Hwadam [Flower Pond]) and Sŏ said, “The poem appears to show his gift but is not far-reaching (wŏndae).”
