| 韓編修世能陳給事三模遊漢江作詩。朴判書忠元次韓詩韻。又別作一詩曰。儒仙憶昨東海遊。準擬趨塵上此樓。徙倚湖山天若借。登臨物色客全收。虛聞寄問丁寧語。實釋當時取次羞。北望豐儀是何處。含香昵侍翠雲裘。又題詩下曰。忠元昔在丁卯叨忝遠接。迎海嶽老先生于江上。今又迎慰兩大人于開京。上大人招進于前。傳海嶽老先生寄問之語。是不忘昔年陪侍之意。實海外鯫生一大榮幸。故屬和高韻。忘其僣越。又次一律。以寓區區之意。而其不忘本國之士。至於次韻遠寄。不亦鄭重平? |

| 1. Compiler Han Shineng 韓世能 (1528–1598) and steward Chen Sanmo 陳三謨 (16th century) cruised the Han River and composed poems. Minister (p’ansŏ) Pak Ch’ungwŏn 朴忠元 (1507–1581) responded to Han’s rhymes by composing another poem, 儒仙憶昨東海游准擬趨塵上此樓徙倚湖山天若借登臨物色客全收虛聞寄問丁寧語實釋當時取次羞北望豐儀是何處含香昵侍翠雲裘 The immortal-like Confucian recalls yesterday’s journey across the sea to the east.Now he prepares to leave the dusty world and ascend this tower.He lingers at the lake and the mountain, as if leaning on the sky.Seeing the unfolding vista, the traveler stops all things.Hearing the hollow greetings that are all polite words,truly you dismiss them right away as disgrace. Gazing north, a grand ceremony, where is that place?A fragrance carrying beauty waits on you in a cloud-patterned kingfisher coat.Then underneath the poem, he wrote:“On the twenty-fifth day of the sixth month of 1569, I had the honor of receiving a foreign envoy and greeted Xu Guo at the river. Today, I once again welcomed two honorable guests at Kaegyŏng. Han passed on to me a message from Xu, which indicated that he did not forget the memories of our past journey together. This was truly a great honor for this humble person living across the sea. Therefore, responding to the noble rhymes and forgetting my own lowly status, I composed this poem to express my sincere gratitude to Xu for remembering a scholar from this country and even sending him a responding poem from afar. Isn’t this something to be truly cherished?” |
