1. Chŏng Hŭiryang (sobriquet Hŏam [Void Hut], styled Sunbu) was exiled to Yongman in P’yŏngan province. I passed there on my way to China on a diplomatic mission, and he prognosticated my fortune. In turn, I composed a farewell poem for him. I travel towards a cozy hut, carrying very little food.Riding a donkey to the sky’s edge, it’s been a long journey. I once gazed at the Fusang tree and watched the rising sun.Now I return to China again as if it is my homeland. The Whale Sea in my scroll stretches deep and blue. The Swallow Mountain in my sack is adorned with ancient trees.I await the arrival of autumn winds to bring forth chrysanthemums in flower patches.Pulling a curtain behind sporadic rain,we talked lying side by side. |
