高生淳字熙之。嘗病聾。篤信好學。一日吟詩就寢。先父中樞公夢與一詩云。華髮蒼蒼減昔年。孤身寂寂守山前。莫言白骨無知感。聞汝吟詩我不眠。

English Translation
1. Ko Sun 高淳 (15th century; styled Hŭiji), who had lost his hearing due to an illness, possessed a sincere passion for learning. One day, as he retired to bed, he recited a poem. In his dream, his late father, a minister in the Office of Ministers-without-Portfolio (Chungch’ubu), presented him with the following poem, 華髮蒼蒼減昔年孤身寂寂守山前莫言白骨無知感聞汝吟詩我不眠 Your youthful dark hair has grown thin over the years.Alone in silence, you stand watch before the mountains.Please don’t say dead bones do not have feelings!Listening to you recite poems, I am unable to sleep.
