所閑堂代淸州妓謝衣寄剛中詩云。憶君時復展君衣。別淚斑斑尙未晞。剪破此衣還作縷。連愁緖寄君飛。甚有意思。賦遠浦歸帆云。行色靑山動。來陰白鳥警。來陰謂帆來之陰。未見用處。

Korean Translation

English Translation

1. Kwŏn Ram 權覽 (1416–1465; sobriquet Sohandang [Hall of Idleness]) delivered a poem to Sŏ Kŏjŏng on behalf of a kisaeng from Ch’ŏngju who wrote to thank Sŏ for sending her his jacket. It reads, 憶君時覆展君衣別淚斑斑尚未晞剪破此衣還作縷欲連愁緒寄君飛 Remembering you, once again I spread out your jacket.The tears you shed at parting are still wet. I will cut this jacket and turn it into threads.I shall tie them to my sorrowful heart and send them flying to you. The poem carries a deep meaning (ŭisa). Her poem “A Boat Returning to a Faraway Shore” 遠浦歸帆 reads, 行色靑山動來陰白鳥驚 The traveler’s appearance moves the blue mountains.The approaching shadow startles the white birds.The phrase “approaching shadow” refers to the shadow cast by the sail, and I have not seen this expression being used anywhere else.
