(1416–1465; sobriquet Sohandang [Hall of Idleness]) delivered a poem to Sŏ Kŏjŏng on behalf of a kisaeng from Ch’ŏngju who wrote to thank Sŏ for sending her his jacket. Remembering you, once again I spread out your jacket. The tears you shed at parting are still wet. I will cut this jacket and turn it into threads.I shall tie them to my sorrowful heart and send them flying to you. The poem carries a deep meaning (ŭisa). Her poem “A Boat Returning to a Faraway Shore” 遠浦歸帆 reads, 行色靑山動來陰白鳥驚 The traveler’s appearance moves the blue mountains. The approaching shadow startles the white birds. The phrase “approaching shadow” refers to the shadow cast by the sail, and I have not seen this expression being used anywhere else.
