(15th century) sobriquet was Wŏlch’ang (Moonlit Window), and Yu Pangsŏn learned Du Fu’s poetry from him. Yu’s son, Third Minister (ch’amŭi) Yu Yun’gyŏm 柳允謙 (b. 1420), also learned Du Fu’s poetry from his father. The world knew that he was an expert of Du Fu’s poetry. King Sŏngjong ordered Yu Yun’gyŏm to participate in the publication of Korean vernacular annotations on Du Fu’s poetry. I have come across some cases of stretched interpretations in it, and I wonder if these were what Ŭch’im passed on to Yun’gyŏm. A regulated verse written by T’aejae while having an excursion in Sŏngsŏ reads, If a lovely scenery troublesyour wandering heart, take a walking stick and leisurely stroll the west side of the city gate.Willow branches hang low along the river bank, where the spring birds sing. Flowers blanket a thousand homes, and the sound of roosters echoes in midday. He imitated Du’s poem and plagiarized phrases from Du.
