Kwŏn Che’s 權踶 (1387–1445; sobriquet Chijae [Dwelling Studio]) poem on asking for a dish of skate ray (hongŏ) reads, 細肌凝豆腐軟骨嚼沙糖 Your fine flesh is congealed like tofu.Your soft bones are chewable like candies. He also wrote, 箕形如可得 How did you get a shape like a winnowing basket? 1. All these lines describe the appearance of the fish using colloquialism (sok). |
