蔚珍佛影寺有蓮花岩。岩似蓮交立於瀑流之中。故名曰蓮花。任萬休有詩云。龍攜明月喜閑眠。帝罰青溪石作蓮。強待神工千古就。不叫鬼斧一朝鐫。磨來洗去瓊瑤盪。斗出盤迴霹靂纏。更得幾年枝葉大。大時休比藕如舡。萬休卜居蔚珍時作。豈自況耶。且少時游山寺題僧軸曰。川為海海為川。石為玉玉為石。一溪明月滿山雲。僧乎僧乎早掛錫。吾亦從此謝形役。此蓋光海時也。
There is Lotus Flower Rock inside Puryŏng Monastery in Ulchin, Kyŏngsang province. Resembling a lotus flower, the rock stands beautifully amid plunging cascades and hence was named “Lotus Flower.” Im Yuhu wrote the following poem on it, 龍攜明月喜閑眠帝罰靑溪石作蓮強待神工千古就不叫鬼斧一朝鐫磨來洗去瓊瑤蕩鬭出盤回霹靂纏更得幾年枝葉大大時休比藕如船 The dragon holds the bright moonand enjoys his restful sleep.The emperor rebuked the green streamand turned the rock into a lotus. The mighty display of divine workis an achievement of a thousand years.He did not call for the demon’s axeand carved it in a morning. Polished and washed over and over,the precious jade is cleared away.Then suddenly it emerges, twists and turns,wrapped inside a thunderclap.In a few years,its stem and leaves will grow.When it grows big, please don’t compareits root to a boat. Im wrote the poem when he was living in Ulchin. Isn’t the poem about his own circumstances? When he was young, he visited a mountain monastery and wrote the following poem on a monk’s scroll painting, 川為海海為川石為玉玉為石一溪明月滿山雲僧乎僧乎早掛錫吾亦從此謝形役 Rivers became seas. Seas became rivers.Rocks became jades. Jades became rocks.Over the stream, a bright moon shines.The mountain is shrouded in clouds.Monk! Oh, Monk!Please hang up the cane soon.I too will follow youand end my official servitude. He wrote this was on account of the time of King Kwanghaegun.
