權韐。韋布寒士,。石洲之弟也,。號草樓。其松都懷古一絶曰。雪月前朝色。寒鍾古國聲。南樓愁獨立。殘郭暮烟生。一時膾炙。權嘗遊三角山僧伽寺。時諸名士來會飮酒賦詩。權與座談詩自若座中侮之曰。今日名官之會。彼書生何乃唐突也。權笑曰諸君之爵。豈敵吾一句哉。諸名士異之,。請誦其句。權卽朗吟。雪月前朝色。寒鍾古國聲之句。諸名士乃大驚。上座而敬之。飮醉境日
권협은 포의의 가난한 선비로 석주 권필의 아우이며 호는 초루이다. 그의 '송도를 회고하며' 절구시 한 수는 다음과 같다. "" 이 시가 한때 널리 회자되었다. 권협이 일찍이 삼각산 승가사에 유람을 갔는데 때마침 여러 명사들이 와서 모여 술을 마시며 시를 지었다. 권협이 자리에서 시에 대해 태연하게 이야기하자 자리에 있던 사람들이 업신여기며 말했다. "오늘은 이름난 관리들의 모임인데 저 서생이 어찌 당돌하게 끼어드는가." 권협이 웃으며 말했다. "여러분의 벼슬이 어찌 나의 한 구절에 겨루겠는가." 여러 명사들이 이상하게 여겨 그 구를 읊어 주기를 청하였다. 권협이 즉시 낭랑하게 ""의 구절을 읊으니 여러 명사들이 이에 크게 놀라 상석에 모시고 공경하고는 하루종일 취하도록 마셨다.
Kwŏn Kap 權韐 (1553–1618), a younger brother of Kwŏn P’il, was a poor and obscure scholar. His sobriquet was Ch’onu (Thatched Tower). His quatrain “Meditating on the Past in Songdo” 松都懷古 reads, 雪月前朝色寒鐘古國聲南樓愁獨立殘郭暮煙生 Snowy moon wears the colors of the past dynasty.Cold bell rings the sound of the ancient kingdom.At the south tower, I stand alone in sorrow.From the decrepit city rises evening smoke. This was relished (hoeja) by many for a while. Once Kwŏn visited Sŭngga Monastery at Samgak Mountain. At the time, celebrated scholars were having a gathering of poetry and wine. Kwŏn discussed poetry with them with great ease. Some of the scholars mocked him and said, “This is a gathering of celebrated scholars. How dare you, a mere student, intrude?” Kwŏn laughed and said, “Will your ranks be able to measure up to my single quatrain?” They thought him strange and asked him to recite his quatrain. Kwŏn then read the quatrain, “Snowy moon wears the colors of the past dynasty. Cold bell rings the sounds of the ancient kingdom.” Everyone was greatly shocked. They offered him a seat of honor and treated him with respect. They drank all day till they all got drunk.
