趙龍門嘗過文憲書院。諸生以尋院錄請題。龍門只題一絶。皆相訝莫知爲誰。後始聞知乃龍門也。其詩曰。客路栖栖久未還。天敎看盡海西山。不須姓字留書院。嬴得狂名滿世間。
Korean Translation
조용문이 일찍이 문헌서원을 지나는데, 제생(諸生)들이 《심원록》을 가지고 제명(題名)하기를 청하므로, 용문은 절구 한 수만을 써 주었다. 모두 서로 의아하여 누구인 줄을 알지 못하였다가 뒤에 비로소 들어 알고 보니, 바로 용문이 었다, 그 시는 다음과 같다.

나그네 길에 방황하며 오래 돌아가지 못하니 / 客路栖栖久未還 하늘이 서해의 산을 다 보게 하였네 / 天敎看盡西海山 성명을 서원에 남길 필요없는 것은 / 不須姓字留書院 미친 이름이 세상에 가득하기 때문이오 / 贏得狂名滿世間

English Translation
Cho Uk once visited the Munhŏn Academy, and the students there asked him to write in the Visitors’ Record. Cho only wrote one quatrain, and everyone was surprised, not knowing who he was. Later, they learned it was Cho. His poem said, 客路棲棲久未還天敎看盡海西山不須姓字留書院贏得狂名滿世間 Weary and unsettled on the traveler’s road, I have long not returned.Heaven has shown me all the mountains of Hwanghae province.There is no need for my name to be left at the academy.Those who have gained fame for their madnessare all over this world.
