English Translation
When Registrar of the National Academy (chikhak) Kim Ch’ŏllyŏng 金千齡 (1469–1503) was a child, he was sitting on his grandfather's lap when a guest composed the following poetic line, Above the horizon strewn with clouds, the full moon is high. The guest asked his grandfather to compose a parallel line. When he could not, Kim tapped his grandfather’s shoulder and said, “Why don’t you say, 風定江心一葉舟 In the heart of a river where the wind is calm, there is a solitary boat. ?” They were greatly astounded. Sure enough, Kim was later chosen as a primus and gained literary fame.
