尙相。夢於高樓華宴座上作近律。百尺高樓依半天。三行紛黛列華筵。前江一帶圍平野。遠峀千岑露抹烟。時有嬌鶯穿翠柳。更無輕燕點朱絃。未成末句而驚悟。因記夢中之語。足之曰。樓居非是幕中客。不用金屛在眼邊。氣量甚好。

Korean Translation
상(尙) 정승은 꿈에 높은 다락 호화스러운 잔치 자리에서 이렇게 근률(近律)을 지었다. 백 자 넘는 높은 닭 중천에 기대었고 / 百尺高樓倚半天 세 줄 분바른 여인들 호화로운 자리에 벌여 있네 / 三行粉黛列華筵 앞의 강은 한 띠와 같이 평야를 둘렀고 / 前江一帶圍平野 먼 산의 일천 봉우리 짙은 안개 속에 드러났네 / 遠峀千岑露抹煙 때로 아름다운 꾀꼬리 푸른 버들 뚫는데 / 時有嬌鶯穿翠柳 다시 경쾌한 제비 붉은 줄 건드리지 않는구나 / 更無輕燕點朱絃 끝 구(句)를 미처 채우지 못하고 놀라 깨었다. 인하여 꿈속의 말을 되새겨서 다음과 같이 채웠다. 다락에 사는 사람 장막 속의 손 아니니 / 樓居非是幕中客 금병풍 눈앞에 두르는 것 필요없네 / 不用金屛在眼邊 기개와 도량이 매우 좋았다.

English Translation

Minister Sang Chin composed the following recent style verse in a dream during a banquet he hosted at a high tower. 百尺高樓倚半天三行粉黛列華筵前江一帶圍平野遠岫千岑露抹烟時有嬌鶯穿翠柳更無輕燕點朱絃 At a hundred-foot-high tower, leaning in midair,fair ladies in three rows serve up a lavish banquet.A belt of river in front surrounds the plains.A thousand hills in distance are glimpsed through the veil of mists.At times, sweet orioles flutter through green willows.There are no frivolous swallows to stain the crimson strings. Before he could finish the poem, he suddenly awoke, but remembering the words in his dream, he completed the poem with the following lines, 樓居非是幕中客不用金屛在眼邊 The resident of the tower is not a guest inside a tent.There is no use for gold screens to unfurl before his eyes. His exceptional caliber (kiryang) is evident.
