通事鄭和。文翼公光弼庶子。文翼宅有梅樹。公之壽辰。在梅花正開之時。後鄭大提惟吉。嘗與諸族飮此樹下。各賦詩感舊。和先有詩曰。三十年前識此梅。年年長向壽筵開。至今摧折風霜後。每到花時不忍來。諸孫皆垂泣閣筆。

Korean Translation
통사(通事) 정화(鄭和)는 문익공(文翼公) 광필(光弼)의 서자(庶子)다. 문익공의 집에 매화나무가 있었는데, 공의 수신(壽辰)이 바로 매화가 필 때였다. 뒤에 대제학 정유길(鄭惟吉)이 여러 일가들과 이 나무 밑에서 술을 들며 각기 시를 지어 감상하였는데, 정화가 먼저 시를 지었다. 삼십 년 전에 이 매화를 기억하니 / 三十年前識此梅 해마다 오래도록 수연 때에 피었네 / 年年長向壽筵開 지금 풍상에 꺾여진 뒤로 / 至今催折風霜後 매양 꽃필 때 되면 차마 오지 못하네 / 每到花時不忍來 이에 여러 손자들은 모두 눈물을 흘리며 붓을 놓았다.

English Translation

Interpreter Chŏng Hwa 鄭和 (16th century) was a sŏja of Chŏng Kwangp’il. There was a plum tree in Chŏng Kwangp’il’s house, and Chŏng Kwangp’il’s birthday coincided with the blooming of the tree. Later, when the Director of the Office of Royal Decrees (taejehak) Chŏng Yugil and other family members were drinking under that tree, each of them wrote poems reminiscing about the past. Chŏng Hwa first wrote the following poem, 三十年前識此梅年年長向壽筵開至今摧折風霜後每到花時不忍來 Thirty years ago,I came to know this plum tree.Year after year, it grew, blooming at the time of your birthday feast. Now, after being ravaged by wind and frost,every flowering season, I can’t bear to visit. All of his grandsons shed tears and put their brushes down.
