成夏山夢井。天資甚超頴。詩文未嘗經意。而出手必佳。有病懷賦。申企齋常書一通。付壁而讀之。李容齋亦言。使兄力學以充其才。則吾輩不敢望也。嘗小構南麓。有詩曰。誰家有道可冲天。料理終知却不然。試向山中高枕臥。此身閑處卽神仙。又遊江亭有詩曰。爭占名區漢水濱。樓臺幾處向江新。朱蘭大抵多空寂。携酒來憑是主人。措意皆理達。有警世意。成卽尙相之妹兄也。每曰。兄詩。可採於東文選。而無愧詩不見錄。亦命也。
하산군(夏山君) 성몽정(成夢井)은 천품이 매우 뛰어나게 영특하였다. 시문을 일찍이 뜻에 두지 않았으나 손에서 나오면 반드시 아름다웠다. 〈병회부(病懷賦)〉라는 것이 있는데 신기재(申企齋)는 항시 한 통을 써서 벽에 붙여 놓고 읽었으며, 이용재(李容齋)는 또한 말하기를, “형이 힘써 배워 그 재주를 확충하였더라면 우리 무리는 감히 바랄 수 없을 것이다.” 하였었다. 일찍이 남산 기슭에 조그마한 정자를 짓고 다음과 같은 시를 지었다. 뉘 집에 도가 있어 충천할 수 있는고 / 誰家有道可冲天 요리하면 문득 그렇지 않음을 알리 / 料理終知却不然 시험삼아 산속에 들어 베개 높이고 누웠으니 / 試向山中高枕臥 이 몸 한가한 데가 즉 신선일세 / 此身閑處卽神仙 또 강정(江亭)에 놀면서 아래와 같은 시를 지었다. 한강 가 좋은 곳을 다투어 차지하여 / 爭占名區漢水濱 강을 향해 단장된 누대가 몇 군데나 되는고 / 樓臺幾處向江新 붉은 난간이 대저 고요한 데가 많으니 / 朱欄大抵多空寂 술 들고 올라 앉으면 곧 주인이라네 / 携酒來憑是主人 뜻을 얽은 것이 다 사리가 달통하여 세상을 경계하는 뜻이 있었다. 상(尙) 정승의 매형이었는데, 그는 매양 말하기를, “형은 천성이 효성스럽고 우애가 있었다. 그 시는 《여지승람》이나 《동문선》에 수록 되어도 부끄러움이 없는데, 그때에 수록되지 못하였으니 또한 천명이다.” 하였다.
Prince of Hasan, Sŏng Mongjŏng, was by nature highly intelligent. Although he did not pay much attention to poetry and prose, whatever he wrote was excellent. He composed a piece called “Rhapsody on Feelings While Ill” 病懷賦, and Sin Kwanghan transcribed the entire poem, hanging it on a wall for constant reading. Yi Haeng also remarked, “If Sŏng tried hard to expand his talent, it would be something this generation could not even imagine.” Once he built a small hut at the foot of South Mountain and wrote the following poem, 誰家有道可沖天料理終知却不然試向山中高枕臥此身閑處卽神仙 Whose family has the Way that can shoot up into the heaven?After reflection, one will finally realize it is not the case.I venture into the mountains,reclining on a high pillow,where my idle body becomes just like an immortal.During a visit to a river pavilion, he composed another poem:, 爭占名區漢水濱樓臺幾處向江新朱欄大抵多空寂携酒來憑是主人 I rush off to find a scenic spot along the Han riverbank.How many towers and terraces facing the river are new?Most vermilion balustrades are empty and quiet.Whoever visits them with wine will be their owners. The meanings are all laid out with the intent of admonishing the world. He was a brother-in-law to Minister Sang Chin. Sang always said, “My brother-in-law’s poems are worthy of being included in the Tongmunsŏn 東文選 (Anthology of Eastern Literature).” That his poems were not included is also his fate.
