向來親友。落落四散。不栫棘則皆分符于遠邑。兪晦伯櫶之之茂朱也。求別語。余贈一律曰。今之太守盡吾散遍東南與北西。安心星仁皆嶺外。淮江襄陽卽坤倪。飛定邑雙鳬欲發文川五馬蹄。湖郡此時君又去。別詩前後不停題。盖安東孟休徵胄瑞。慶州任文仲奎。星州兪伯圭。仁同尹叔麟。淮陽金道常。江陵李弼唧相。襄陽李文伯寅煥。三陟李擇之選。定州宋漢卿昌。文川趙士帴聖吝在一隅故也。而趙則將行故也

Back in the day, my family and friends were all scattered away, if not imprisoned then exiled to faraway places. Before going into exile in Muju county in Chŏlla province, Yu Hŏn 兪櫶 (1617–1692; styled Hoebaek) asked me for a farewell poem, and I presented him the following regulated verse, 今之太守盡吾儕散遍東南與北西安慶星仁皆嶺外淮江襄陽即坤倪纔飛定邑雙鳧翼欲發文川五馬蹄湖郡此時君又去別詩前後不停題 The prefects who have been exiled lately are all my fellows,scattered throughout east and south, north and west.Andong, Kyŏngju, Sŏngju, and Indong are all beyond the mountains.Hoeyang, Kangnŭng, and P’yŏngyang are at the end of the world.One just flew to Chŏngju on the wings of two ducks,another ready to depart for Munch’ŏn on the hooves of five horses.This time to Honam you too are going.Farewell poems one after another I cannot stop writing. It was because Maeng Chusŏ 孟胄瑞 (b. 1622; styled Hyujing) was in Andong, Im Kyu 任奎 (1620–1687; styled Munjung) in Kyŏngju, Yu Chang 兪瑒 (1614–1690; styled Paekkyu) in Sŏngju, Yun Chiwan 尹趾完 (1635–1718; styled Sungnin) in Indong, Kim Uhyŏng 金宇亨 (1616–1694; styled Tosang) in Hoeyang, Yi Iksang 李翊相 (1625–1691; styled P’ilgyŏng) in Kangnŭng, Yi Inhwan 李寅煥 (1633–1699; styled Munbaek) in P’yŏngyang, Yi Sŏn 李選 (1632–1692; styled T’aekchi) in Samch’ŏk, Song Ch’ang 宋昌 (1633–1706; styled Han’gyŏng) in Ch’ŏngju, and Cho Sŏngbo 趙聖輔 (b. 1634; styled Sajun) in Munch’ŏn, all in every corner, and Cho was about to depart.
