English Translation

My eldest brother, Grand Prince (puwŏn’gun) of Iksŏng, Hong Ŭng 洪應 (1428–1492), as well as Kang Hŭian 姜希顔 (1417–1464; sobriquet Injae [Benevolence Studio]), Chŏng Nanjong 鄭蘭宗 (1433–1489; sobriquet Tongnae [Eastern Wildland]), Cho Kŭn 趙瑾 (1417–1475; styled Ch’igyu), Yi Kisu 李期叟 (15th century), and others were constantly confined within the palace and unable to go out and roam freely. My brother wrote a playful poem, Holding a brush in hand,I toil through an entire spring. Amongst the misty shadows of flowers, who is that fuddled man?
