坡州西郊。荒廢無人。安政堂牧始墾之。廣作田畝。大搆第而居之。政堂能詩。嘗占句云。牧笛一聲長浦外。漁燈數點洛巖前。至其孫瑗極盛。內外名田無慮數萬頃。奴婢百餘口。老樹萬章。成蔭十里。鵝鴨呼噪其間。公臂蒼牽黃。日往來以爲樂。至今分占餘土而居之者百許人。皆其子孫也。

Korean Translation
파주(坡州) 서교(西郊)는 황폐하여 사람이 살지 못했는데, 정당(政堂) 안목(安牧)이 처음으로 넓게 밭을 개간하고 큰 집을 짓고 살았다. 정당이 시를 잘하여 한 구(句)를 짓기를, 목동의 피리 소리 긴 포서 밖에 들리고 / 牧笛一聲長浦外 고깃배의 두어 점 등불이 낙암 앞에 보이도다 / 漁燈數點洛岩前 하였다. 그 손자 원에 이르러 지극하게 창성하였는데, 안팎으로 차지한 밭이 무려 수만 경(頃)이나 되고 노비도 백여 호나 되었다. 늙은 고목 천여 그루가 10리에 그늘을 이루고 거위와 황새가 그 사이에서 울고 떠들었다. 공은 매를 팔 위에 올려놓고 누런 개를 데리고 매일 왕래함을 낙으로 삼았다. 지금도 남은 땅을 나누어 차지하고 사는 사람이 백여 명이나 되는데 모두 그 자손이다.

English Translation

The western outskirts of P’aju were once uninhabited wasteland. Chancellery Scholar (chŏngdang munhak) An Mok 安牧 (d. 1360) took the initiative to cultivate the land and transform it into farmland. He also built a large house to reside in. An was a talented poet and composed the following lines, 牧笛一聲長浦外漁燈數點洛巖前 A tune of a herdboy’s pipe drifts from beyond Changp’o shore.The lights from fishermen’s boats flicker under Nagam Cliff. By the time of his grandson, An Wŏn 安瑗 (1346–1411), the family had had achieved immense prosperity. The sum total of their cultivated land was more or less several hundreds of thousands of acres. Their male and female slaves numbered over a hundred. They had nearly a thousand old trees, which shaded the distance of ten li, and geese and storks called out in its midst. An himself enjoyed going around hunting, with a dark green falcon on his arm while a yellow dog accompanied him. At the present, the land has been divided, and over a hundred of his descendants reside there.
