鵝溪李山海。謫平海。聞封世子。有詩。仁孝英明逈出倫。沖年德宇藹。陽春。謳歌允屬吾君子。曆數應歸大聖人。法殿濫叨承策命。虛銜曾窃側僚賓。老臣願緩須曳死。親見康衢擊壤辰。後有讒人。以末二句爲惡言。聞上。鵝溪卽改之曰。此身願化東風燕。飛趁龍樓問寢晨 |

While in exile in P’yŏnghae, Kyŏngsang province, hearing of the installation of crown prince, Yi Sanhae wrote the following poem, 仁孝英明迥出倫衝年德宇藹陽春謳歌允屬吾君子歷數應歸大聖人法殿濫叨承策命虛銜曾竊側僚賓老臣願緩須臾死親見康衢擊壤辰 Benevolent and dutiful, wise and bright, you are outstanding by far.At young age, your virtues extended like luxuriant spring.Indeed praises belong to my Crown Prince,and the throne shall return to the Great Sage.At the court, undeservinglyI received the royal commandsand in a modest post joined other officials and guests.Your old minister wishes to delay his death for a momentto see for himself at the thoroughfare the day of striking the earth. Later, when a slanderer reported to the king that the last two verses were malicious words, Yi quickly changed them to 此身願化東風燕飛趁龍樓問寢晨 I wish to become a swallow riding on east wind,and fly to the dragon tower and offer a morning greeting. |
