南冥詩曰。人之好正士。好虎皮相似。生前欲殺之。死後方稱美。可謂慣涉世間情態。而善形容矣
남명의 시에, 사람들 바른 인물 좋아하는 것 / 人之好正士 호랑이 가죽 좋아함과 비슷하구나 / 好虎皮相似 살았을 땐 어떻게든 죽이려 하고 / 生則欲殺之 죽고 나면 아름답다 일컫네그려 / 死後稱其美 라 하였는데, 세간의 속성을 속속들이 알고서 잘도 형용했다 하겠다.
Cho Sik’s poem said, 人之好正士好虎皮相似生前欲殺之死後方稱美 People love a righteous scholarlike they love the tiger’s skin.When he is alive, they want to kill him.After he dies, they call him beautiful. We can say that the poem delved into the feelings (ch’ŏngt’ae) in the world and effectively described (sŏn hyŏngyong) them.
