| 金南窓。玄成。以善書鳴於世。自言學子昂。而亦不類趙體。楷字頗美。其詩琅然可愛。詠新月詩一聯曰。光斜恰照蓂三葉。輪缺纔容桂一枝。人稱其工。東嶽次其韻曰。鉤沈剩劫潛蛟窟。弓掛偏驚睡鶴枝。雖不及原韻。而押韻有先後之難易。東嶽之高才可見。老杜對月詩曰。光射潛虯動。明翻宿鳥頻。又王元之中秋月詩曰。冷濕流螢草。光凝睡鶴枝。蓋東嶽使此兩詩之語矣。 |

| 남창(南窓) 김현성(金玄成)은 서예로 세상에 이름을 날렸다. 스스로 자앙(子昂)을 배웠다고 말하였으나 조맹부(趙孟頫) 서체와는 달랐다. 해서(楷書) 글씨가 매우 아름다웠으며 그의 시는 낭연(琅然)하여 애송할 만하였다. 〈영신월(詠新月)〉 시의 일련에서 이르기를,
달빛이 비껴 흡사 명협 세 잎을 비추는 듯하고 / 光斜恰照蓂三葉 바퀴 이지러져 겨우 계수 한 가지만 용납하네 / 輪缺纔容桂一枝 하였는데, 사람들은 뛰어나다고 칭찬하였다. 동악(東岳 이안눌의 호)이 차운하여 이르기를, 낚시 드리워 굴혈에 잠긴 교룡 겁주고 / 鉤沈剩劫潛蛟窟 활 걸어 가지에 조는 학을 놀라게 하네 / 弓掛偏驚睡鶴枝 하였는데, 비록 원운에는 미치지 못하나 압운에는 선후의 난이(難易)가 있는 법이니, 동악의 높은 재주를 알 수 있다. 두보의 시 〈대월(對月)〉에 이르기를, 달빛이 잠긴 규룡을 쏘니 꿈틀거리고 / 光射潛虯動 밝음이 잠든 새에 어른거리니 찡그리네 / 明翻宿鳥頻 하였고, 또 왕원지(王元之)의 시〈중추월(中秋月)〉에 이르기를, 차가움은 반딧불 나는 풀 적시고 / 冷濕流螢草 달빛은 학이 조는 가지에 엉겼네 / 光凝睡鶴枝 하였으니, 대개 동악은 두 시의 말을 사용한 것이다. |

| Kim Hyŏnsŏng was renowned in the world for his calligraphy, but his poems were also resonating (rangyŏn) and lovely (kaae). A couplet in his poem on the new moon reads, 光斜恰照蓂三葉輪缺纔容桂一枝 The moonlight aslant just shines onthe three auspicious leaves.The crescent moon only has room for a single cassia branch. and people praised his refined (kong) skills. Responding to Kim’s rhyme, Yi Annul wrote, 鉤沈剩劫潛蛟窟弓掛偏驚睡鶴枝 I lower the fishing hook to scare the dragon hiding in a cave.I hang a bow to frighten the crane sleeping on a branch. Although it does not match up to the original rhyme, rhyming after another poem has added difficulty, hence displaying Yi’s great talent.Du Fu’s poem on gazing at the moon said, 光射潛虯動明翻宿鳥頻 When rays shoot, hidden dragons writhe.When brightness sets, sleeping birds knit their brows. Again, Wang Yucheng’s 王禹偁 (954–1001; styled Yuanzhi) poem on mid-autumn moon said, 冷濕流螢草光凝睡鶴枝 Cold and damp, fireflies drift about plants.Shimmering and calm, cranes sleep on branches. Probably Yi used the words in these two verses. |
