| 奇高峰大升常言。梅月堂金時習所著詩甚高。其詩才雖十人割裂。一分有之。其於秉文衡饒爲之云。盖心服之也。 |

| 고봉(高峰) 기대승(奇大升)이 말하기를,
“매월당(梅月堂) 김시습(金時習)이 지은 시의 격조는 매우 높다. 그의 시재를 열 사람이 갈라서 하나만 가지더라도 충분히 대제학이 될 수 있을 것이다.” 하였으니, 진심으로 인정하였던 것이다. |

| Ki Taesŭng 奇大升 (1527–1572; sobriquet Kobong [High Peak]) often said, “Kim Sisŭp’s poems are truly superior (ko). Even if ten people divide up his poetic talent and each gets one tenth of it, that would be more than enough for him to hold the position of the Director of the Office of the Royal Decrees.” Ki admired Kim from the heart. |
