昔年余承敬差之命。奉使嶺南。題僧軸云。鄕心迢遞白雲端。南國秋風道路難。馬上逢僧還一笑。滿山蒼翠要人看。南溟甚賞之云。又有贈山人一絶。三峯不見已三年。逢着山僧一悵然。獨鶴孤雲無限意。影池何日弄潺湲。
옛적 내가 경차관의 명을 받들고 영남에 사신으로 갔을 때 승려의 시축에 쓰기를, 고향 생각은 흰구름 끝에 아득한데 / 鄕心迢遞白雲端 남쪽 지방 가을 바람 불고 길은 험하구나 / 南國秋風道路難 말 위에서 승려 만나 한바탕 웃고는 / 馬上逢僧還一笑 산에 가득한 푸른 빛을 보라고 하네 / 滿山蒼翠要人看 하였는데, 남명(南冥 조식(曺植))이 몹시 칭찬하였다. 또 산인(山人)에게 주는 절구 한 수를 지었는데, 삼각산 못 본 지 이미 삼년이 되었는데 / 三峰不見已三年 산승을 만나니 그저 서글프기만 하네 / 逢着山僧一悵然 외로운 학 홀로 가는 구름에 무한한 마음 / 獨鶴孤雲無限意 언제쯤 연지(硯池)에서 물결을 희롱할까 / 硯池何日弄潺湲 하였다.
In the past when I visited Kyŏngsang province on an investigative mission, I wrote the following poem “On a Monk’s Scroll” 題僧軸, 鄉心迢遞白雲端南國秋風道路難馬上逢僧還一笑滿山蒼翠要人看 The homesick heart travels far to the ends of white clouds.From the southern country comes autumn wind. The road is perilous.On the horse, meeting a monk, I nevertheless had a laugh.The green trees that fill the mountainswant us to see them. It is said that Cho Sik really liked the poem. I also wrote the following quatrain “Presenting to a Mountain Hermit” 贈山人, 三峰不見已三年逢著山僧一悵然獨鶴孤雲無限意影池何日弄潺湲 I haven’t seen the three peaksfor already three years.Meeting a monk from the mountain, I become disheartened.A lone crane and a solitary cloud stir up boundless emotion.In the shaded pond, when will Iget to play and roll?
