老與病相期。 窮年一布衣。 玄花多掩翳。 紫石少光輝。 怯照燈前字。 羞看雪後暉。 待看金榜罷。 閉目學忘機。

Korean Translation
늙음과 병은 기약이나 한 듯 찾아오지만, 죽을 때가 다된 한 포의의 신세. 눈동자 몹시 희미하여, 자수정 안경도 소용이 없네. 등잔불 앞에서 글자 보기가 겁나고, 눈 내린 뒤 빛을 부끄럽게 바라본다. 금방이 끝나기를 기다렸다가, 눈을 감고 기심을 잊는 것을 배우리라.

English Translation
Old age and illness arrive together. All my life, I’ve lived as an unwaged scholar. Blurring vision has dimmed my eyesight. My pupils have lost their glow. I’m frightful of reading under a lamp and scared of seeing snow’s glare. I will check the exam results in a while, then close my eyes and learn to forget all motive.
